Oppenheimer: A Quest for Peace Within Humankind and Human Mind [No spoiler]

I just came back after watching Christopher Nolan’s masterpiece Oppenheimer. I wouldn’t deny that Mr. Nolan again astounded me with his unique way of storytelling and unmatched theatrical presentation. However, something that fascinated me most was his visionary capabilities and deep perspective.

After watching this movie I could fathom the potential of the human mind and how important it is to realize and evaluate the evolution of humans. In the race of power and prosperity humans have gone to an insurmountable level of discoveries and inventions. Most of these discoveries and inventions might be good for the civilization but some are still questionable how they would stand on deciding the future of this planet.

I am always fascinated with the miraculous possibilities that our planet has. We are on a planet, possibly only one with life in it, that has gone through such incredible cycles of evolution to the level of having living creatures like us Humans, who can now even decide the fate of this planet. This fact can feel both rewarding and fearsome to me.

One incident of mass destruction in Hiroshima and Nagasaki had clearly shown how humungous and unfathomable the outcome of a human mind can be if it is not pacified with peace. After watching this movie, we will definitely be more concerned about our progressions and our accountability for the fate of this planet. Climate change and global warming is looming around , but besides that the threat of uncontrolled nuclear energy can also be deterministic for the future of human civilization and the entire planet.

Oppenheimer and a look into human psychology

As a psychology and mental health enthusiast, I was captivated to see how Christopher Nolan had tried to go deeply inside the mind of Dr. Oppenheimer. Instead of running after the race for audience attention by making it just a sci-fi fantasy , Nolan created a spectacularly natural presentation of human emotions via expressions of Cillian Murphy and other casts.

The way Oppenheimer is moved by the consequences of his invention makes us think twice about our advancement with science. By portraying the journey of Robert Oppenheimer , this movie is telling us nothing is as beautiful as ensuring the peace on this planet and peace of mind for each human kind.

The amount of stress and anxieties Oppenheimer goes through, and all those restless moments he has to live after the Hiroshima and Nagasaki incident clearly shows us that no victory is as triumphant as peace . The way the movie goes inside of his mind to visualize the trauma is commendable. This

In a Nutshell

This movie really translated how Oppenheimer felt after realizing  the fate of the future of this planet with the invention of his team. The level of accountability Oppenheimer felt is something that is keeping humanity safe. We need to realize that no defense mechanism, no technology or invention can protect us if we do not act responsibly for this planet. Our spirits and our mind is accountable for the future of us and the next generations.

The movie Oppenheimer is a perfect rendition of the fact that world peace is directly proportional to the peace of mind of each individual. As troubled and turbulent our outer world becomes, the same will be reflected in the human mind and vice versa.
