We have shared you stories of the people and places. But today we are going to share you the story of a letter. A letter that we received from our volunteer Marina. She worked for a Buddhist monastery in Sri Lanka.
This letter is special for us not only because how beautifully she handed over to our local coordinator in a cute gift basket. But also because of the words of love that she expressed.
Her experience in Buddhist monastery in Sri Lanka was definitely a memorable moment for us as well. The people of Sri Lanka are very welcoming and peaceful that’s what Marina experienced with our local coordinator Michael and the host Puspa.
Marina as a Teacher in Buddhist Monastery
Her participation in Monastery in Galle is gratefully appreciated. Marina shared her English language with the kids of the monastery. In return she experienced the immersive moments with Sri Lankan Buddhism.
During her enrollment in the monastery, Marina collaborated with the local members of the Monastery and helped in the learning process of the kids. In Sri Lanka it is essential for the monks to be proficient in communication so that they can spread the message of peace and compassion in the world. Marina’s volunteer work as a teacher can be vital in this regard.
Marina’s Spiritual Tour in Galle
Lastly in her letter Marina is thanking her host in Galle for accommodating her in a family environment. She expressed her thanks for providing delicious Sri Lankan food. She is thanking Nabin a local friend for helping to tour around various beautiful places in Galle like Galle Fort, Lighthouse, Unawatuna Beach and Japanese Peace Pagoda.
