How Meditation Benefits to Students - Start Now.

University is the second home for every students after the real home. It only makes sense when students have more supportive and less stressful environment. Now what you’d imagine a healthy study environment would look like. When students feel they have a safe place to express their ideas, ask questions without fear, and address their mistakes by professors - they learn more, become creative and produce great results. On the contrary, If students have none of these, there may prompt to consequences. Fear of Failure, retribution or disengaged. As a result, students leave, stressed out and unhappy. This is common everywhere, and has the inverse psychological effect.

SIGNS & SYMPTOMS OF Psychological Effect

Here are several red flags you may observe yourself or there in students suffering from

  1. Assignments are getting done on time who previously used to hit deadlines
  2. The need to study suddenly decreases
  3. Isolation from other student groups or self withdrawal
  4. Mood Swings or changes in behavior such as not friendly, arguing, sudden anger towards fellow students
  5. Increased absenteeism
  6. Lots of complaining over small things, suffering from headaches and fatigues

Personally, to avoid being burned out in such situations, there are many psychological safety methods to stay focused. One of the methods is Meditation. And, mindfulness can be earned. There are many way to learn how to meditate, seeking a practitioner or buying an online course or joining a workshop. Mostly, students at their early age of career can have a great advantage over those who don’t meditate.

Starting a routined meditation habit have multiple life-saving benefits. Study shows;

  1. The habit increases mental focus, sharp concentration and memory power which ultimately improves academic performance,
  2. The routine develops ability to stay calm and find solutions for the stressful situations,
  3. Meditation brings natural glow in the face and builds self-esteem,
  4. Meditation prevents neuron diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's; and,
  5. Meditation is extremely beneficial to get rid of addiction.

At the end of the day, a less stressed person sleeps well, daily.

Leveraging Meditation and Yoga - A good lifestyle.

Yoga and meditation is considered a major factor to promote a healthy lifestyle for all. Adopting early to practice yoga and meditation can be seen enjoying a happy and healthy lifestyle. No comparison to those who don’t practice. Yoga is beneficial for physical health because it uses certain process and poses which directly aligns with muscular and circulatory system of a human body.

This comes from my very own volunteering program experience in Nepal in 2022. I can explain from my heart because I completed 7-days course and it was exhilarating. Not only Yoga improved my body flexibility, but it also improved my health. My blood oxygen level improved, I tend to stretch in any direction without worry, i developed muscular strength as well as mobility. I am less tired and more active during days. Yoga helped to me choose healthy diets and my digestion issue has gone forever.

On the other hand, meditation is very beneficial for mental health, I must say. The yoga program included an hour session of meditation, where one has to take a seat, close eyes, breathe properly, and stay silent, even there’s noise of distraction.

Let me put leveraging benefits on a tabular form for comparisons, so that you don’t’ have to.
