Oscars 2023 (94th Academy Awards) : From Psychology to Climate Change, Stories On the Table

The winners of Oscars 2023, 94th Academy Awards are being announced and almost the whole world is celebrating this  much awaited annual event of the movie lovers.

This year’s Oscar is also not only the celebration of the movies but the stories that reflect different layers of human lives and human histories.

The event took a moment of silence to show the support for Ukraine and Ukrainian people, to inspire people across the world on providing aid and helps to the Ukrainian citizens suffering with Russian Invasion.

At one side there is  a nomination of psychological thriller like Nightmare Alley, starring Bradley Cooper, with the story of a man  scheming to con a tycoon with help from a mysterious psychologist . On the other side, movies like Don't Look Up starring  Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, presenting the impact event is an allegory for climate change,  a film that is a satire of government, political, celebrity, and media indifference to the climate crisis. 

Another movie to be celebrated this year is West Side Story directed by Steven Spielberg, which is  about forbidden love and the rivalry.

There are Documentaries like Lead Me Home, with touching stories of homelessness on the West Coast of the US. The movie frames the cinematic portrait of a surging humanitarian crisis.

Nominated in many categories, the movie like The Power of the Dog, a Western psychological drama film, reflects a story of someone's struggle until finding they are  exposed to the possibility of love.

Will Smith won the award for best actor from the movie King Richard, a story of a family that defies seemingly overwhelming difficulties and the prevailing expectations laid before them.

The best actor nominee who was later winner of the category appeared to strike Chris Rock, with abrupt reaction of the joke of Rock. In such emotional event the world witnessed the psychological reaction of a celebrity under stress.

Some remarkable moments happened in the ceremony, like Troy Kostur made history as the first deaf man to win the acting oscar.
