Johnny Depp-Amber Heard trial: Psychology, Mental Health and Relationship Crises

The Hollywood Stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have reached a dramatic point of their failed relationship. In 2016 Heard filed divorce from him due to Depp's drug use and alleged physical abuse.

After being accused by Heard of intimate partner violence, Depp sued with a defamation lawsuit against Heard because of  her op-ed published by The Washington Post.

The Pirates of Caribbean star  Depp and Aquaman fame Heard began a relationship in 2012 and tied knots in February 2015. A relationship that began with shining glitter started losing its luster with time.

A psychologist testifying in the Depp case suggested Heard may have BPD, the other psychologist suggested her to have PTSD. On the other side the  psychologist defending Heard testified that Johnny Depp assaulted Amber Heard. It is yet to be decided which party is right and which one is wrong. Everyone is waiting for the verdict. But one thing is crystal clear that in this disaster a common culprit is psychological and mental health issues.

If a relationship becomes unhealthy. If partners can not understand the psychological and mental state of their counterpart, then a relationship crisis occurs and turns a fairytale relationship like this into misery.

Relation of Depp vs Heard Trial and Psychology, Mental Health Issues

The Depp vs Heard  trial has definitely grabbed the attention of Americans and the entire world. From this incident we have learnt that domestic violence is a terrible and possibly deadly form of abuse. The consequences of intimate partner violence can be serious and create unfathomable health-care costs and psychiatric ramification.

This trial is a moment for people to learn about how important it is to stay in a good state of mental health and how crucial it is building good relationships with your partner and people around.

During this trial we heard many psychological and mental health related terms such as Borderline personality disorder (BPD) and Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Both parties were raising questions about the psychological abnormality of each other. This definitely raises a question how the lives of people that look beautiful from outside can be deeply rotten inside if  the psychological and mental health conditions are ignored.

Conclusion: Depp vs Heard Trial and Lessons Learned About Psychology and Mental Health

The first lesson we learnt from this trial is we should not ignore the pattern of bad behavior of the people around us, especially our partner. Most of our bad habits like consuming alcohol, using drugs and over ambitious attitude can lead us to psychological and mental disorders. A disciplined life habit is key to   good physical and mental health.

With no doubt whatever is happening between Depp and Heard is their private matter, but at the same time both of them have been idealized by people because of the famous characters they have played like Captain Jack Sparrow of Pirates of the Caribbean and Mera of Aquaman. So, them being a public figure, people will possibly resemble this event as part of their lives. It is a lesson how ignorant behavior and patterns of bad habits can lead to a relationship disaster.
