The fourth of July mark for the American Independence, its an official holiday in the USA commemorating the Declaration of Independence. This day marks as the day of freedom of American people from British rule and formation of United States of America as an independent country.
On this day Volunteer FDIP would also like to express our gratitude and thanks to all the volunteers we had over the last 9 years. We have experienced the sense of freedom and independence in every American volunteer we hosted so far. The confidence and enthusiasm they expressed in each and every program are really commendable.
Here are the names of our volunteers from the United States we would like to give an honorable mention on this day:
Ben Borchard

From Minnesota
A psychology student from St. Olaf College, Ben has been really helpful and supportive to our program. During his stay in the Buddhist Monastery, he actively participated in the different activities and apart from that he helped the FDIP to create a psychology awareness related story by contributing his knowledge and voice over.
Rebecka Schieber
From Oregon
Originally from Oregon , but now living in New Zealand, Rebecka has participated in our Meditation and Childcare program. She has been really understanding and open to options to help in different areas. We wish Becki all the best for her future endeavors.
Olesya Nerubalskaya
From Los Angeles, CA
Cool and stylish Olesya also had peaceful and spiritual side of her. She explored Nepal openheartedly during her stay here. She participated in the Buddhist monastery program and also joined a meditation retreat. We really had fun while traveling around the outskirts of Kathmandu valley with her. We wish Olesya all the best for her fashion design career in LA.
John Faulkner

From Santa Barbara, CA
Very pleasant and positive, John was always smiling and happy with whatever comes in his way. He volunteered in Buddhist monastery, followed by his trek a month long to the Himalayan mountains. John also served as a teacher in the Everest region. His energy and positivity is really commendable.
Darryl Peterson

From Albany, OR
The man who possessed almost all skills of Tom Cruise : )Â licensed to Sky diving, Scooba diving, skiing , surfing and many more. Darryl was a real adventurist , it was fun for our team to trek with him which eventually became like a trail running while trying to catching up his speed. Darryl joined our meditation program and displayed his love for peace and compassion during the project.
Grace Reed

From San Francisco, CA
We still remember her beautiful smile and pleasant personality. The team FDIP is always appreciative to her positive attitude. We had fun during her Buddhist monastery volunteer program participation and a 2 days trek we had to the Chisapani, the northeast hill of Kathmandu valley.
