Shangri-La: a Quest for Finding My Own Spiritual Paradise
Last Updated: April 9, 2024
TweetAlthough Shangri-La is an imaginary place, it's portrayed as a serene and mystical valley, supervised by a lamasery and tucked away in the mountains. To me, Shangri-La has become a symbol of a terrestrial paradise, particularly a Himalayan utopia—a haven of perpetual bliss, isolated from the outside world.

I set off on a trip to the Himalayas. It is not for nothing that the highest mountain range on our planet is considered the roof of the world. It is said that with its breathtaking peaks it not only touches the sky, but also the souls of those who dare to experience it.

Buddhist monasteries amid snow-capped mountains, mighty rivers that find their way through spectacular gorges, dense jungles and sparkling alpine lakes. I found the landscapes of such stunning beauty that must have been envisioned by the visionary when he created the word Shangri-La.

Living spiritually doesn't require large rituals or complicated actions. It requires mindfulness, compassion, love, and peaceful communication on all levels. It also requires focusing on the positive things your life has to offer, daily and in every situation. If you live the fears and depression of the collective, you allow yourself to be drawn into a downward spiral that leads to the shadows.

Shangri-La has inspired me to explore my own earthly paradise. In my every trips to the Himalayas, I have always delved deeper into my inner soul.
Shangri-La may be a fictional place of peace, longevity, and contentment, where the inhabitants live in harmony and isolation from the outside world. However, if everyone of us starts being compassionate and empathetic, then this whole world can become a Shangri-La.
