Do you want to get introduced to unique Nepalese tools used by local people to maintain their community?FDIP offers you a good chance to participate in a community development project with a local people in a local Nepali way. It can be going through all the digging, painting, carpenting in a way you've never done or seen before or can be providing medical assistance, teaching in local schools and simply sharing your love and experience with the unprivileged. This project is about using your skills and sweats to create a beautiful community in rural Nepali villages. The culture that you will experience and the people that you’ll socialize with and the community that you have worked on to develop that will definitely be a life changing experience for you.

Skills and Qualifications to Volunteer
No specific skill or qualification is required while volunteering in Nepal for community development project, but this project requires pretty much of physical efforts . So applicant must be have made their mind for such stuffs.
Orientation
2 days long orientation is held by our local staffs in Kathmandu. Volunteers are introduced to basic Nepali language and greets, meanwhile they are also informed about the custom, ritual, safety, travel guidance and all the dos and don'ts in the Nepali Society.
Your Week as a Vounteer
First day: On the first day you'll be briefed about the project and you will be ushered to the project location by our field officer.
Weekdays: In weekdays volunteer will be working with local communities. Daily schedule will be as follows
Morning: Breakfast ( As provided by homestay )
Daybreak: Volunteer work
Evening: Back to home stay and Dinner and rest
Food & Accomodation
Volunteers will be received at airport by our local staff. Volunteer are accommodated in our hostel for 2 days till the orientation. Volunteers are then accommodated at homestays.
You will be provided basic living standard with clean room, pure drinking water, hygienic food, bathroom and shower. Volunteers might share their room with other co-volunteers. Local meal in Nepal is Daal Bhaat, consisting of beans curry( daal),steamed rice(bhaat), vegetables, pickles and occassionally chicken or meat.
If you have any health issue and special dietary requirements please inform us while applying for the project. It will be tried to fulfill your all hygienic and nutritional requirement in meal but as a volunteer we will also be expecting some flexibility from you.
