Peru Conservation Volunteer Program in Cusco

Cusco and Machu Picchu are the most popular summer destinations for all visitors, since the country with the Peruvian highlands receives less precipitation in the summer and the temperature is nice. The most intricate and gorgeous weavings in Peru are as complex as the nation itself. Old traditions are commemorated at festivals, the urban avant-garde promotes innovation, and nature offers amazing variety. For most tourists to Peru, hiking over the majestic Andes to the world-famous Inca stronghold of Machu Picchu is the main attraction. This, however, only accounts for a minor fraction of the country's wealth. Peru's landscapes are varied, featuring intriguing geoglyphs.

The initiative is based in the Amazon's Manu National Park and Peru's diverse biodiversity. As a volunteer, you will collaborate with local groups in Manu National Park to conduct ecological restoration projects. You'll be able to see how local biologists and conservationists are working hard to conserve one of the planet's most dynamic habits. When you volunteer for this project, you will be joining a group of people and organizations dedicated to preserving this land in its natural state.

Volunteer’s Roles Responsibilities and Activities

This project is in desperate need of assistance, and the possibilities are abundant. Digging, filling plastic bags, weeding, irrigating, and other tasks are all part of the nursery job. Volunteers will learn about their cultures and assist on the farms with agriculture, building, and animal care, among other things. Volunteers will also seek to maintain the biodiversity that already exists. Volunteers will collaborate with biology students and other experts. Their present efforts are focused on teaching people from the neighboring villages how to protect the environment in which they live. At various seasons of the year, they also run reforestation projects. You may be keeping an eye on bird and monkey species.

You will contribute to the local people while also growing personally and professionally by  assisting with Amazon conservation initiatives.  The natural environment and animals must be protected and conserved. Enhancing your communication abilities,  gaining experience in conservation and research and immersing oneself in Peruvian culture is a great way to learn about the country are important tasks as a volunteer.By then, you may explore the Beauty of the Amazons and its rainforest.

Arrival and Orientation

Our team will meet you at the Cusco International Airport Velasco Astete Aeropuerto and transport you to your community home or host family lodging. The rest of the day is yours to relax and enjoy Peru's hospitality. In a formal atmosphere, you will meet your coordinators and fellow group members. You will learn more about Peru and your program at orientation. Later in the tour, you will be taken on a journey to Cusco, which is known for its historic legacy and natural beauty.

Accommodation

The community house may accommodate 10 to 15 people. Group housing is given in a hostel-style setting, with gender-specific dormitory rooms. The group leaders each have their own sleeping quarters. Wi-Fi is available in the dining and living areas, as well as the toilets. Depending on the size of the gathering, host families may be offered as an alternative. Our host families have undergone comprehensive background checks, have been a part of our program for several years, and come highly recommended by previous participants. Upgraded accommodations are available upon request.

Free Time Travel Activities in Cusco, Peru

Cusco, the Andean city of Peru, was once the capital of the Inca Empire and is now known for its archaeological remains and Spanish colonial architecture. You may have fun at the beach, during summer carnivals, and by engaging in outdoor activities and games.

In the meantime, you may relax and enjoy Cusco. If this is your last day in the program, our team will assist you in making plans for the future. Those that stick with the program will be given a two-day weekend to unwind. Placements that last more than a week are considered in the same way.
