Greta Thunberg arrested in London While Protesting Against Gas and Oil Industries

Activists blocked entrances and exits to the building, resulting in 20 arrests for obstructing public roads, though the London police refrained from mentioning the environmental activist specifically. Two police officers apprehended Greta Thunberg in the afternoon, leading her to a police van. Earlier in the day, the 20-year-old delivered a speech against the gathering of these influential figures in the energy sector.
The Swedish environmental activist was arrested in London during a protest against an oil and gas industry event. She criticized politicians and lobbyists for making deals behind closed doors. Hundreds of demonstrators blocked the entrances to the event venue, the InterContinental Park Lane hotel.
A few days ago, she was sentenced to a heavy fine for blocking the port of Malmö, in her native country, this summer to protest against the consumption of fossil fuels. In January, during a demonstration against a coal mine in Germany, she was also arrested, before being released by the country's police.
