Ecuador Galapagos Conservation Volunteer Program

Due to its tropical warmth, rich greenery, and network of volcanic islands, Ecuador is a popular tourist destination. Ecuador has various beautiful beaches that draw tourists every year. White-sand beaches, Kichwa settlements, Amazonian jungles, and the stunning Andes are just a few of the country's highlights. Ecuador is known as a microcosm of South America because of its remarkable biodiversity, rich history, beautiful colonial architecture, vibrant highland marketplaces, and diverse population of blacks, whites, indigenous, and mestizo people.

Your program might begin in Quito or on the island of San Cristobal. For one night, you will be hosted by a host family in Quito's new town if your arrival is via Quito. All of your obligations for your volunteer work in Galapagos will be explained to you by our organization. You will be transported to Galapagos Island, or if you arrive on the island directly, our representative will meet you at the airport

Volunteer’s Roles Responsibilities and Activities

Everything will begin when we give you a brief introduction to the project, and you will be transported to your residence and project. It will take 15 minutes to drive from the port of San Cristobal to the community lodge. Each volunteer will be notified of their activities based on the plan chosen. After that, you may spend the remainder of the day and evening doing anything you like. You have the weekends off.

Some of the activities that can be done here consist of collecting and identifying seeds, planting native species, maintaining paths, practicing sustainable agriculture by partnering with local farmers, and participating in Galapagos preservation initiatives.

Arrival and Orientation

Our members will pick you up from Mariscal Sucre International Airport and carry you to your community house or host family. You have the remainder of the day to relax and enjoy Ecuador's warmth. You'll meet the coordinators and members of your group in person. During orientation, you will learn more about Ecuador and your program. You'll pass through Quito later in the voyage, a city famed for its historical significance and natural beauty.

Accommodation

There is hostel-style group housing available, with gender-specific dormitory rooms. Group leaders have their own sleeping quarters. The combined housing may accommodate 10 to 15 people. Wi-Fi is accessible, as are eating and living rooms, as well as indoor facilities. Depending on the size of the party, host families may also be given as an alternative. Our host family has been extensively investigated, has been a member of our program for several years, and comes highly recommended by former participants. Upgraded accommodations are available upon request.

Free Time Travel Activities in Galapagos, Ecuador

The creatures that reside in the Galapagos Islands, many of which are unique to the globe, accept humans as friends. More people live here than is commonly assumed, and the municipalities of the islands have seen a surprising amount of development, primarily geared at increasing tourism. Explore the Galapagos Islands' creatures and magnificent surroundings to make your journey more enjoyable and appealing.

For now, you may relax and explore Galapagos. If this is your last day in the program, our staff will help you make future arrangements. Those who complete the program will receive a two-day weekend to relax. Placements that persist more than a week are treated similarly. You'll be working on the project Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday are yours to do as you like.
