Sri Lanka Medical Healthcare Volunteer Program

Sri Lanka is an intriguing travel location. The pearl-shaped Indian Ocean nation is a biodiverse and agriculturally valuable region. Sri Lanka entices travelers with its endless beaches, historic ruins, friendly people, elephants in plenty, rolling waves, low-cost accommodations, intriguing trains, famous tea, and wonderful cuisine. This little island packs an astounding array of attractions into its small footprint. The Indian Ocean laps the coastline, which is bordered by stunning – and often refreshingly untouched – beaches, while the mainland offers a diverse terrain, ranging from wildlife-rich lowland rainforests to foggy highlands covered in tea plantations.

Sri Lanka is battling hygienic difficulties such as individuals avoiding the use of toilets, which has resulted in many Indians succumbing to infectious diseases. To raise awareness about health services and a healthy lifestyle, people from all over the world must join in activities that can make a difference in such a circumstance. Volunteering in Sri Lanka's medical and healthcare services might lead to such an opportunity. Sri Lanka Healthcare volunteer program is a chance for medical professionals and students, nurses and nursing students, and other practitioners and academics of public health and healthcare services to obtain hands-on experience with medical work and healthcare services.

Volunteer’s Roles Responsibilities and Activities

Your role in the Sri Lankan medical program is determined by your degree of education, experience, and skill. If you're a medical student, your responsibilities might include everything from observation to basic therapy. If you are a medical professional, on the other hand, you will be involved in the examination and treatment of patients. This placement is ideal for medical students who want to learn while also sharing their love and compassion with sick patients in a variety of units, including MEDICINE, SURGERY, NEUROSURGERY, CARDIOLOGY, DENTAL, NEONATAL, and so on. You will also be able to obtain further valuable experience by working in a variety of areas and shadowing experienced physicians and nurses.

Arrival and Orientation

Our personnel will meet you at Katunayake's Bandaranaike International Airport and transport you to your community house or host family lodging. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and experience Sri Lanka's hospitality. You will formally meet your coordinators and fellow group members. You will learn more about Sri Lanka and your program at orientation. Later in your holiday, you'll explore Sri Lanka, a country known for its rich history and kindness.

Accommodation

The shared apartment can accommodate 10 to 15 people. There is hostel-style group lodging with gender-specific dormitory rooms available. Leaders of groups have their own sleeping rooms. Wi-Fi is offered, as are dining and living areas, as well as indoor showers. A host family may also be appointed depending on the scale of the event. Our host families have been extensively screened, have been with us for many years, and have come highly recommended by former participants. On request, upgraded accommodations are available.

Free Time Travel Activities in Galle

Galle, Sri Lanka, is well-known across Asia for its palm-fringed beaches and water activities such as surfing. It is a historically noteworthy city with medieval mosques, churches, and fortifications. Galle's UNESCO World Heritage Site architecture vividly represents Portuguese, Dutch, and British history. In the meantime, you may unwind and explore Galle. If this is your last day in the program, our staff will assist you in selecting your next steps. Those who remain with the program will enjoy a two-day weekend to relax. Placements that last longer than a week are handled similarly. You'll be working on the project Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday are fully free for exploring.
