South Africa Medical Healthcare Volunteer Program

South Africa is a massive, diverse, and stunningly beautiful country. It's not like the picture-perfect settlements along the Garden Route. From the Western Cape to the subtropical coast of northern KwaZulu-Natal. The vast Karoo semi-desert runs across the heart of the country, while Kruger National Park, one of Africa's most popular safari destinations, sprawls along the northeastern border. This is a country of tremendous diversity, with black-maned lions bordered by Kalahari sand dunes, exquisite beaches lapped by two oceans, a star-studded desert sky, and rocky, lush hills.

Working with children will allow you to make a difference in the lives of these children. The Cape Town teaching program is centered in a Cape Town project. Your participation in the program provides you with skills when teaching English to children. You will also share your expertise and experiences with the project's children. Teaching, assisting with study tasks, cleanliness, and other extracurricular activities will be among your primary responsibilities.

Volunteer’s Roles Responsibilities and Activities

You will be exposed to a unique way of life in the ancient city of Cape Town. You will enjoy your time volunteering at the project and contributing to the growth of these children. The project anticipates your active engagement in the cultural interaction amongst participants. You will get the opportunity to gain a close look into Buddhist lives and ideals while sharing your talents, stories, and knowledge with them. During your placement, you will be supported by a member of the local team. Your coordinators are ready to help you in every manner possible. There is no prior experience or knowledge required. Skills are required, and on-site training is available. The curriculum is centered on children's development and growth. We remind you that the program is not about intervention, and we recommend that you have an open mind to get the most out of it.

Arrival and Orientation

At the Cape Town International Airport, our team will greet you and transport you to your community house or host family lodging. You have the rest of the day free to relax and enjoy South Africa's friendliness. You will have a formal meeting with your coordinators and other group members. You will learn more about South Africa and your program at the orientation. You will fly to South Africa later in your holiday, a country known for its history and generosity.

The shared home may accommodate 10 to 15 people. Group lodging in the manner of a hostel is offered, with gender-specific dormitory rooms. The leaders of the groups have their own sleeping quarters. Wi-Fi is offered, as are dining and living areas, as well as indoor showers. A host family may be assigned depending on the magnitude of the event. Our host family have undergone extensive background checks, have been with us for several years, and come highly recommended by former participants. On request, upgraded accommodations are available.

Free Time Travel Activities

Cape Town is one of South Africa's most historically significant cities. Here, at the Mother City, the first European colonists came in South Africa, which also marked the beginning of the slave trade in the country. On the little Robben Island in Table Bay, Nelson Mandela, probably the world's most famous political prisoner, was imprisoned. Here are some of the major historical events that shaped Cape Town into the metropolis it is today.

If this is your last day in the program, our team will assist you in determining your future steps. Those that stick with the program will get a two-day weekend to unwind. Placements that last longer than a week are handled similarly. You'll be working on the project Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday are entirely open for exploration.
