TweetCountries across the globe have come together to provide a helping hand to the Ukraine government and its people. Due to lack of safety and dire helplessness, many Ukrainians have also fled their homes amid the Russian invasion.
Countries like the USA, Canada, France, Spain, Germany, Romania, Hungary, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and Poland are providing support by giving humanitarian aid and refuge to these Ukrainians.

Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine from the USA
Since the Russian invasion started, the Biden administration has provided billions of dollars worth of humanitarian aid in various forms through the Consolidated Appropriations Act.
The aids included supplies such as food, medicine, and water. The United States has also planned to welcome up to 100000 Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war zone.
Canada Helping Ukraine
Canada has set aside $145 million to date in funding for Ukraine. This comprises a series of help including matching donations made by individuals in Canada, supporting the displaced population, and providing various humanitarian needs of the people in Ukraine.
Canada is also setting up necessary portals to take in Ukrainian refugees. So far Canada has welcomed over 6000 Ukrainians seeking safer shelters in Canada.
Germany's Support for Ukrainian People
Germany had shown its support to Ukraine since 2014 and now has increased it during the Russian invasion. With regards to humanitarian aid, Germany has remained the largest donor to Ukraine.
To mitigate the effects of the invasion by Russia, Germany collected over €240 million in the form of loans in addition to food items, hygiene supplies, mobile hospitals, medical vehicles, and training for medical staff for Ukraine.
France Humanitarian Help
The displaced people in Ukraine are getting support from humanitarian aid provided by France in the form of emergency supplies like food, tents, tools, and medicines.
On top of the €300 million of aid provided in February of 2023, tons worth of humanitarian aid, medical supplies, and equipment from France are constantly delivered in airplanes through Poland and Moldova.
United Kingdom's Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine
The United Kingdom government has spent millions of dollars on humanitarian aid to Ukraine. In total, they have pledged over $ 400 million as an aid to Ukraine to support their war against Russia.
These aids are granted in the forms of financial support as well as in other ways such as providing materialistic support to the victims. They are also providing logistic assistance such as electricity supply networks.
Sweden Humanitarian Assistance
Sweden has also shown its support to Ukrainians by providing humanitarian aid through the United Nations and the Red Cross Society since the war over Ukraine started.
Sweden has distributed donations worth 10 million USD to these organizations to support the people who are currently stuck in Ukraine and are unable to flee the results of the war.
Spain Humanitarian Support
Spain has been preparing like other European countries to rescue citizens from the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. In that effort, they have provided hundreds of tons of humanitarian aid and medical supplies.
In addition, the government of Spain is open to welcoming and providing employment to refugees who want to move from Ukraine to start a new life by settling there.
Poland Helping Refugees from Ukraine
Since the war began, Poland has partnered with various humanitarian organizations to welcome over 2 million refugees from Ukraine. The Polish government has been in support of Ukraine since day 1 of the war.
Poland is one of the closest neighbors to Ukraine which inevitably gets one of the highest numbers of incoming refugees. Many volunteers from Poland are dedicating their hours to helping the refugees settle.
Hungary Supporting Refugees from Ukraine
Hungary shares a 135km long border with the Eastern part of Ukraine which facilitates escape routes for refugees. As soon as the war started, the Hungarian government collected donations and aid for them.
Now, Hungary has collected humanitarian aid that can suffice for up to 900000 refugees that want to escape from Ukraine's devastating situation. Currently, they have provided sanctuary to about 432000 refugees.
Romania Supporting Refugees from Ukraine
Countless volunteers are assisting the arrival of refugees on the 613km long border stretched between Romania and Ukraine. Ukrainians had been living and working in Romania before the Russian invasion.
Thanks to the effort of the government and the active volunteers, many refugees walked to the border area to find that things are well organized to welcome their arrival.
